Baildon's older stone houses sit on rising ground, so many elevations take wind-driven rain off the moor. Open or eroded joints let that water into the wall. On stone built before about 1920 the original mortar is lime, and the repair should be lime too. Hard cement over lime traps moisture and the stone face pays for it.
Newer brick housing on the estates has different faults: cracked cement joints, failed sealant around windows and doors and worn silicone in bathrooms and kitchens. Our work gallery includes shower and bath sealant replacement in Baildon, where failed and mouldy silicone was cut out and replaced in full rather than beaded over.

NSJ approach in this area
Diagnose the cause, then specify the repair. We do not patch over a failed joint or bead new silicone over old. Find out about building leak and water ingress inspections.
Stone houses usually need lime mortar repointing. Brick houses usually need cement mortar repointing. Bathroom and kitchen silicone is covered by internal sealant replacement, and windows and doors by external sealant replacement and gasket replacement.
